Hosting is like dancing : it's an art.
A professional in Argentine Tango dance, Thierry is also an experienced hospitality professional.
La Closerie des Arts is more than just a guesthouse — since 2014, Thierry has been welcoming guests to this historic property in the heart of Périgord.
“After a vibrant personal journey that led me to travel around the world and spend 22 years living in Paris, a few years ago I felt the need for a change of pace — away from the noise and stress of city life.
I also wanted to offer my children — Eloïse, Louis, Jules, and Arthur — a more balanced, peaceful, and nature-filled environment.
My love for human adventure, my adaptability, and my passion for family and life did the rest.
So, in June 2014, we settled in the Périgord Noir, the European cradle of humanity.
It was here, in Aquitaine, in the town of Périgueux, that my youngest daughter, Éléonore, was born.
Today, my greatest source of inspiration remains the love I have for — and receive from — my children.”
Professionally, Thierry’s expertise in management and dance has always been his greatest strength, and his passion for human connection and meaningful exchange his driving force.
“When I arrived in Périgord Noir on July 1st, 2014, I discovered a wonderful region that I wished to share with my artist friends, opening the doors of this beautiful house to them.
Soon after, others — not artists, but travelers from all around the globe — began to arrive as well.
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I welcome you, travelers from around the world, day after day.”
